Musa can fix anything. At least anything he understands. As an engineer, he deals in observable data—angles, leverage, force, and facts. He knows his parents left him. He knows he was adopted by crime boss Ramazan, who raised him like a son and made him his organization’s head of construction. But there are many unknowns: What happened to his parents? What is the strange symbol branded on his foot? What is the actual nature of Ramazan’s business?
But Ramazan taught him to focus on what he can control. To leave unknowns buried. And he does. So each day, Musa steps over the secrets buried below…until one day the earth cracks open.
A massive earthquake swallows buildings whole. The house Musa built for Ramazan stays standing. Old and ailing, Ramazan panics when a shipment of valuable “product” is trapped underground. Musa is sent to the border to drill out the “products.”
After hours of backbreaking work, Musa breaks through—only to find terrified children and a woman named Meryem. Before he can understand, an aftershock buries them all underground together.
Trapped underground, Musa must confront the truth about Ramazan’s empire—and about his own past.
